Dennis Quinn Drake

Dennis Q. Drake, age 83, passed away May 5, 2019.

He was born in Council Bluffs on February 16, 1936 to the late Quinn and Madeline (Dewaele) Drake. Denny retired from Iowa School for the Deaf after 39 years of teaching. He was active in motorsports and had his own excavating business.

Denny is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn Drake; children, Denise Fischer (Curt), D. Scott Drake (Lisa Minear), Dana Drake (Marti), DeAnn Drake; siblings, Judy Bailey (Jim) and Rita Daugherty (Pat); step-children, Laura Smith (Phil), Ellen Yeager (Chris McDonald), Daniel Olsen, Susan Laux (Rob), Anne Wise (Matt), Rachel Stolz (Frank); grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment is in the Grange Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
