Alice Flom

Our mother, Alice Flom, age 86, passed away September 27, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Home. She was born in Yankton, South Dakota on November 30, 1928 to the late Frank and Alvina Haas. She worked in a dress shop as a bookkeeper and after two children, she decided to stay home and be a full time mom. Dad and Moms move to Council Bluffs led Dad into the optical field and they became owners of the Spec Shoppe where Alice took up bookkeeping again. She retired fully in 1990. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband to whom she shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2014; sisters, Mary Wiebel and Viola Tuttle; brothers, Larry and Clarence Haas. Alice is survived by her children, Dan Flom (Grace Ann), Karen Gaspard (Hal), Rick Flom (Rita), Bill Flom (Lora), Jean Flom; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A private family service will be held.
