Alice I. Mendenhall

Alice I. Mendenhall, age 77, of Council Bluffs passed away March 24, 2015. She was born in Villisca, Iowa on September 6, 1937 to the late Claude and Agnes (Darnold) Wilson. Alice graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1955. She was a daycare provider for many years. Alice was a member of First Christian Church and a past board member at Risen Son Christian Village. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Randall Johnson and Scott OBrien; grandson, Tyler Scott OBrien; 7 brothers, 2 sisters; 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. Alice is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Mendenhall; daughters, Rebecca Johnson, Carolyn Callaghan and her husband Richard, Tammy OBrien, Kallie Mendenhall; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Shirley Wilson; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service will start at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday March 28, 2015 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. A reception and meal will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Interment will take place on Monday in the Sidney, Iowa Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
