Alice L. Doucette, age 77 of Council Bluffs passed away February 19, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1935 in Waltham, MA to the late James R. and Mabel (Melanson) Doucette. She was the 8th on nine children. Alice Grew up in Cambridge and Weston, MA and attended school at Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Revere, MA. Alice moved to Council Bluffs permanently in 1969 after many long term visits. She lived with her sister, Helen Morrison until her death in 1999. She then resided with her niece and nephew, Gary and Helena young. Alice was a member of the Omaha Association for the Deaf where she enjoyed the company of others from the deaf community and loved winning at bingo and cards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur, Frank, and Joseph Doucette; sisters, Mary New and Helen Morrison. She is survived by her brother, James Doucette of Council bluffs, IA, sisters, Barbara Dououglas of St. Petersburg, FL, Ann Forrest of West Borough, MA; niece and nephew, Helena & Gary Young; many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the angels of Mercy Hospital for keeping her comfortable during her last stay there. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday February 25, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Queen of Apostles.
