Anna Barbara Marshall

Anna Barbara (Schmidt) Marshall, age 93, of Council Bluffs passed away March 13, 2015. She was born in Council Bluffs July 24, 1921 to the late Daniel and Catherine (Thissen) Schmidt. She attended St. Peters Grade School and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. After high school, she worked at the Martin Bomber Plant and thats where she met her future husband. She was a housewife who later worked as a night receptionist at Mercy Hospital, and then as benefit secretary to the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. She was a lifelong member of St. Peters Catholic Church and she and Kenneth were married in the church. She sang in the choir and was a member of St. Anns Altar and Rosary Society. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth L. Marshall; brother, Harry Schmidt who passed away in 1953. Anna is survived by her children, James and Maxine Marshall, John and Diane Marshall, Barbara Schlott, Dan Marshall, Geri Maness, Carol and Doug Lant, Kenneth Marshall, Mary Marshall; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Jerry Mahoney and Ruth and Don Cowles, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Rosary recitation is Monday 5:30PM followed by visitation until 8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday 10AM at St. Peters Catholic Church. Inurnment is in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Peters Catholic Church, St. Albert Schools or Childrens Square.
