Aron Goddard

Aron E. Goddard, age 85, passed away peacefully at Hansen House June 28, 2024. The Hansen staff said he had a caring, fun, happy and jokester personality. 

He was born December 6, 1938, the oldest of six, to the late Harold and Valeda (Bauerle) Goddard in Imperial, NE. He attended rural grade schools in the county and graduated from Chase County High School in Imperial in 1957. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial. 

In 1958 he married Laurine Wagner. Three sons were born to the union: Bart, Jeff and Phil. They later divorced. He married Nancy Ludden in 1972 and adopted her son Wes. Aron was skilled in using his hands and mind to create a solution to meet a need. He used those skills in farming, bench work and his hobbies. His favorite hobby was fishing and Canada was his favorite place to fish. In his younger years he enjoyed deer hunting in northern Nebraska with his good friend Danny.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Idis and Barry Goddard.

Aron is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Goddard; children, Bart (Susan) Goddard, Jeff (Joan) Goddard, Phil Goddard (Shannon Harner), Wes Goddard (Randall DeFord); sisters, Valerie Brady, Carol Spady, and Resa (Bud) Moore; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 03, 2024.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs on Friday, July 5, 2024. Interment will be that afternoon in the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska. Aron had a strong unwavering faith and Wyuka is not his final resting place, it’s his resurrection place. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church.
