Barbara Chambers

Barbara J. Chambers, age 87, of rural Treynor, Iowa passed away January 11, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Home.

She was born in Council Bluffs on November 2, 1930 to the late Lester and Bertha (Burt) Prior. Barbara was married to Kenny Chambers on February 28, 1951 and to this union, two boys were born: Randy and Rod. She and Kenny made their home and raised their family on the farm. She enjoyed her home, flowers and was particularly fond of butterflies. Barbara was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Chambers and grandson, Andrew Chambers.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Randy Chambers and Rod Chambers (Debbie); sisters, Donna Kinney, Judie Cain (Lyle), Linda Jacobsen (Lynn Hankemeier); grandchildren, Angela Yoder (Bryan), Jaime Mack (Rob), Austin Chambers (Deanna), Caitlin Dillon (Kevin), Sawyer Chambers (Jessc Guenter); 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schroeder and Lois Chambers; brother-in-law, Ron Chambers (Vivian); nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service is 11:00a.m. on Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation will be during the hour prior to the service. Interment is in the Hardin Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Treynor Fire and Rescue, AseraCare Hospice or Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
