Barbara J. Jacobsen

Barbara J. Jacobsen, age 81, of Council Bluffs passed away September 7, 2015. She was born in Council Bluffs on November 27, 1933 to the late Evan and Fern Pierce. Barbara graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She loved to fish; in fact she and her husband went to Minnesota each year for 30 years. Barbara also enjoyed ceramics and was a member of First Christian Church and volunteered in the church office. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Jacobsen. Barbara is survived by her husband, Walter Dennis Jacobsen; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Andrea Jacobsen; sister-in-law, Kay DuBois and her husband Ted. Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow in the community room at Hoy Kilnoski. Inurnment will be later that afternoon in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
