Bernard Donald Schnoor

Bernard (Benny) Donald Schnoor was born on July 28th, 1926, on the family farm in rural Silver City, Iowa. He passed away peacefully on that same farm on Tuesday January 19th, 2016. He was an only child born to William F. Schnoor and Anna C. (Stortenbecker). Bernard graduated from Treynor High School in 1945. He was married to Donna L. (Mott) on October 22, 1949 at Silver City United Methodist Church. They were blessed with two children James and Jann. Bernard was a steward of the land and farmed with his father as Schnoor and Schnoor. In 1973 his son Jim joined the family farming operation and together they operated as Triple S Farms. In 1980 Bernard and Jim began Triple S Trucking together. Benny will be fondly remembered for always having a story to tell, a joke, or his jolly laugh that could be recognized across a crowded room. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna, and great granddaughter Olivia Grace Hessel. He is survived by wife of 66 years Donna Schnoor; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kim; daughter and son-in-law, Jann and Dan Strutzenberg, grandchildren, Katherine Hessel (Kyle), Jamie Schnoor, Aunna Strutzenberg, Abigail Strutzenberg, great grandchildren Eva Hessel, Jack Hessel, Emmett Hessel, many extended relatives and dear friends. Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Friday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is in the Silver City, Iowa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Silver City United Methodist Church, Treynor Fire and Rescue or Wings of Hope.
