Beverly J. King

Beverly J. King, age 91, of Council Bluffs went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 12, 2016. She was born in Council Bluffs on December 26, 1924 to the late August and Gladys (Rigdon) Minor and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Beverly was an avid Bridge player, artist and a skilled seamstress. She loved entertaining and was a homemaker extraordinaire. She lived a loving life that revolved around Jesus, her family and her friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 70 years, Marvin King; daughter, Connie King-Christensen; brothers, Howard and Merle Minor; sisters, Guen Logan, Frances Beck and Shirley Worley. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Becky King; grandsons, Scott Christensen (Leslie), Ryan Hemmingsen (Linsey), Tyler Hemmingsen (Laura); granddaughter, Erin Leesley (John Jerome); 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Minor and Delores Muzzereli; a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation will be during the hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery on Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southwest Iowa or the General Dodge House.
