Blanche Obermeier

April 10, 1940 — February 14, 2025

Blanche Jean (Chase) Obermeier was born to Benjamin and Iris Spencer Chase on April 10th, 1940 in Coon Rapids, IA. She entered her heavenly home on Valentines Day, February 14th, 2025 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.

On September 7th, 1957 she and LeRoy were united in marriage at Coon Rapids, IA, then later at the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Audubon. She spent the majority of her life taking care of her home and raising 6 sons. She enjoyed bible study, crocheting, spring time, gardening, tending to her plants and flowers, feeding the birds and enjoying every moment she had with LeRoy, friends, her children and their families.

Jean was baptized as an adult at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Audubon and was a member of St. Johns congregation for the rest of her life. She served as a Sunday School teacher there for many years. She attended school in Coon Rapids and achieved her GED in Audubon, IA. She later earned her CNA and worked at the Friendship Home for a number of years as well.

Years after LeRoys' passing, she moved to Council Bluffs. She made many new friends and enjoyed life living at an assisted living, then skilled care facility until she passed.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband LeRoy; granddaughter Holly; her parents; 6 siblings, and 7 half siblings.

She is survived by 1 brother and 3 sisters: Ben Chase, Rose White, Sandra Turk and Mary Jane Hance (Charles); her sons: Bill (Tammie) Obermeier, Jim (Cathy) Obermeier, Dan Obermeier, Tim (Ruth) Obermeier, David Obermeier and Doug Obermeier; grandchildren: Erin Obermeier Schneider (Anthony), Lindsey Obermeier, Cristin Larsen, Mark Larsen (Stacey), Daniel Larsen (Tabatha), Judi Obermeier Clark (Anthony), Chris Obermeier, Mike Obermeier, Katrina Obermeier Phelan (Michael), Bryan Obermeier, Connor Obermeier and Tara Obermeier; 16 great-grandchildren: Ione, Ezra, Caden, Caleigh, Sebastian, McKenna, Austin, Aunalee, Jesse, Nathan, Garrett, Mitchell, Aurora, Caelum, Noah, Isobel and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Ruby and Crew.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 1PM at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment will be in Audubon at a later date. The family will direct memorials.
