Brad L. Asay, 66 years, of Council Bluffs, passed away on August 5, 2017 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was born August 13, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa to Kenneth, Sr. and Marietta Asay.
Brad joined the Council Bluffs Police Dept in 1973 and was forced to retire on disability in 1989 with the rank of Sergeant. He then served as board member and President of United Credit Union in Council Bluffs. He was a sales associate for Iowa Clothes and after obtaining his realtors license, he worked for NP Dodge from 1998 to 2009. He had a longtime association with the Fish and Game Club, the Elks and the Masons.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth, Jr. (Sue); sister, Marlene McCulloch (Thomas); nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation to staffs at Jennie Edmundson, Hillcrest Health and Rehab, Bethany Nursing and Rehab, Select Specialty as well as his many friends, especially Eric and Amanda Stevens for their loving care during Brad’s extended illness.
A celebration of Brad’s life will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 from 2 to 4PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home.
