Calvin A. Finke

Calvin A.Cal Finke, age 70 of Council Bluffs passed away August 24, 2012 at his home. He was born October 7, 1941 in Exeter, Nebraska to Herman J. & Hilda H. (Wellmann) Finke. Cal stepped off the family farm in the fall of 1961 after losing his hand in an implement accident. He started working for World Insurance Company as a Policy Change Correspondent. He retired from Physicians Mutual Insurance Company in 2003. Cal was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he proudly served as a member of the Board of Trustees and was an Associate Head Usher for many years. Cal is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (McIntosh) Finke; father, Herman Finke; mother-in-law, Edith (Ward) McIntosh; brothers, Robert, Noel and Orin Finke; sister-in-law, Jean (Landegren) Finke. Cal is survived by his daughter, Christy Finke; son, Robert Finke; mother, Hilda Finke; brother and sister-in-law, Verle & Kathy Finke; brother-in-law, James J McIntosh; sister-in-law, Delores Micheel; nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. A prayer service will be Wednesday 6PM followed by visitation until 8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday 10AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Interment is in the Garner Township Cemetery followed by a reception at the church. The family will direct memorials.
