Carol J. Brantz

Carol J. Brantz, age 93, passed away on June 20, 2017 in Council Bluffs and has now joined her husband, Howard, in heaven. She was born on February 11, 1924 in rural Vail, Iowa to the late Rodney and Mildred North. She was the middle of three children.

She graduated from Vail High School with the Class of 1941 and from Jennie Edmundson nursing school. She worked for the Omaha World Herald where she did the church advertising page for over 20 years.

Carol was an ardent Husker football fan. She taught all family members to tell the truth no matter what. She attended all her children’s school and sport functions. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ as her savior

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Howard; brother, Lorne; and sister, Lois.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Brantz, James (Judy) Brantz, and Gary (Rebecca) Brantz; four grandchildren: Anthony (Dana) Catania, David (Carly) Brantz, Molly (Brian) Auld, and Anna (Ryan) Buckingham; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Family and friends to meet at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24, at 10 a.m. to leave in cortege for interment in Ridgewood Cemetery. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the church of your choice in Carol’s honor.
