Carol J. Newman

Carol J. Newman, 76 years, Council Bluffs, passed away at the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital early Sunday morning after a very short illness. Born December 22, 1940 in Council Bluffs, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1959. She worked as a food manager and trainer for the K Mart Stores over thirty years before retiring in 1996.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel (Jakeboski) Johnson; an infant son and a daughter, Reneigh Jo Shuffty.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald of 58 years; her daughter, Rondaline Newman; her son, Ronald Newman, Jr. (Lisa); 2 granddaughters, Misty Buffum (Anthony) and Carrie Helm (Lee); 3 grandsons, Ronald and Randy Newman and Troy Christiansen; 2 great granddaughters, Scarlett and Iris Helm; 2 great grandsons, Xaviar and Slayden Newman.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday 5 to 7PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday 1PM also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the West Liberty Cemetery. Family will direct memorials
