Carol Lavonne Patton Hockabout

Carol Lavonne Patton Hockabout passed away November 20, 2012 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital after an extended illness. Carol was born on March 2nd, 1935, to Louis & Florence (Hofmockel) Patton. She graduated from Tabor High school & in 1953 was married to Wayne (Pete) Curtis. To this union 3 children were born, Cindy, Connie & John. In 1968 she married Dennis Hockabout. They were in business together many years. They loved to travel & made many lifetime friends throughout their marriage. Granny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Franke. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis Hockabout, daughters, Cindy Moore and husband Stu of Topeka, KS., Connie Hildreth and husband Roger of Omaha, NE., son, John Curtis of Burlington, KS., mother-in-law, Lois Hockabout of Tabor, IA., granddaughters, Sarene (Kristi) Moore-Powell, Amber Resnik and husband Brian all of Topeka, KS., Chandis Adkins and husband Ben of Bellevue, NE., Cally Shepherd and Molly Kisielewski and husband Mike all of Omaha, NE., great grandchildren, Kale Shepherd, Hunter & Tucker Resnik, Ella & Evalin Kisielewski, step-children, Teresa Beegle and husband Ralph of Tabor, IA., Bonnie Jo Walk and husband Kevin of Glenwood, IA., Dennis Hockabout Jr. and wife Tracy of Houston, TX. and David Hockabout of Arizona, many step-grandchildren & step great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws & husbands, Merry Jo & Don Neeman of Glenwood, Judy & Warren Johnson of Houston, niece, Maggie Nickoli & nephews, Alan & Jerry Franke, many friends & relatives. She had a sweet & giving spirit & will be greatly missed by those who knew & loved her. No services were held per Carol’s wishes.
