Cathy Moore

Cathy Louise (Donelson) Moore, born on January 29, 1948, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on April 7, 2025, at Azria Health Longview in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Her passing followed several health challenges after a fall in January.

Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Moore; her parents, Ester Marie Keller and Clifford H. Donelson and her sisters, Nancy (PA) and Carol (CA). She is lovingly remembered by her children: Shane Moore; Page Moore (Byron Bothwell); Shawn Moore (Angela) of Chandler, Arizona; Caleb Moore; and Justin Moore (Tina Augustine). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jordan, Cheyenne, Devin, Sierra, Austin, Alyssa, Payton, Brooklynn, Zayden, Daulton, Jayme, Brendyn, Kylee, Tristyn, Bella, Paisley, Noah, Jacob, Leo, and Zoey. Cathy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins-and her beloved dogs Bella and Dizzy.

Cathy attended Tech High School in Omaha before beginning her career as a beautician. Later in life she worked at Flash Car Wash in Council Bluffs for several years. Cathy had a deep love for animals-especially horses and dogs-which remained a constant throughout her life. In the past, she had participated in the Pony Express Riders of Iowa and River City Roundup amongst other local saddle clubs.

A burial service will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Omaha National Cemetery where Cathy will be laid to rest beside her husband Dennis. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs with lunch to follow. All friends and family are welcome to attend both services.
