Cathy Tichy

Cathy R. Tichy, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home on April 5, 2025.

She was born January 14, 1957, to the late Max and Dorothy (Burbridge) Kennedy in Council Bluffs, IA. Cathy graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1975 and then immediately began a career at Woodmen Life. She was Vice President of Underwriting for over 32 years, retiring in 2007. Cathy and her husband, Rick then started a Molly Maid Franchise in 2008 and within 9 years they had reached 1.5 million dollars in sales. In 2020 they sold Molly Maid and retired. Cathy enjoyed spending time with extended family and was very close to her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed time at their farm in Knox County, Nebraska and loved sitting in front of the fireplace on cold winter days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Kennedy.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard "Rick" Tichy; grandson, Cody Hein; sister, Cindy Lippold; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, April 11, 2025. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
