Cecile Marie Schroder passed away on October 7, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on March 27, 1928 to the late Leston and Bessie (Fonda) Stacy in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Cecile attended school in Council Bluffs, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School with the Class of 1946. She and Dale Schroder married on June 28, 1946. After their marriage, Cecile, a city girl, learned to become a farm wife and partner. Over the years of their marriage, she became Dale's best and most reliable "hired hand."
In addition to farming, Cecile started selling Avon in 1966, and sustained a successful, award-winning business for over 25 years. While still maintaining her Avon route, Cecile began a career with the United States Postal Service. She worked as a part-time postal clerk from 1974 until her retirement as an Assistant Postmaster in 2006, at the age of 78.
Dale and Cecile retired from farming in 1989, and began to travel. They enjoyed tours to various parts of the United States and Canada, and frequent visits with family and friends. They also traveled to several countries in Western Europe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Dale Schroder; brother, Howard Smith; sister, Beulah Hagaman; sister, Ida Kinney; brother, Leston "Mike" Stacy; and brother, Ron Stacy.
Cecile is survived by daughters, Kathy Risdal (Jon), Karen Johnston (Dean), Jean Swindle (Joel); and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her heart warming smiles and happy laughter will be missed.
