Charles "Mike" Johnson

Charles F. “Mike” Johnson, age 74, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 1, 2018. Mike was born in Battle Creek, IA, on November 23, 1943, to the late Charles N. and Dorothy (Miller) Johnson.

He worked at Farmland Fertilizer Industries Warehouse for 16 years, Council Bluffs Public Works for 12 years, and he spent 20 years as owner and operator of M&J Lawn, with his wife, Jeri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Jeri L. (Foster) Johnson, “the best thing ever in my life,” brother, Norman Johnson; and granddaughter, Brenna Dearinger.

Mike and Jeri were married for 41 years and raised 6 children: Tamy Brandstrom (Lyle), Mark Hough, Charles “Sam” Johnson (Kayanne), Reva Heitert (Robert), Norman Johnson (Corrinne), and Susan Hough (David Perez). He also leaves behind his sister, Kathy Beulter (Richard); brother, Roger Johnson (Kathy); 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation Sat., 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the service to begin at 11 a.m., all at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will direct memorials.
