Christine Lori Miller

Christine L. (Chris) Miller, 65, of Council Bluffs, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a lengthy illness. Chris was born June 14, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa to Bill and Margaret Cozad. She married Jim Miller May 1, 1971. Chris graduated from Red Oak High School in 1967. She moved to Council Bluffs in 2001. Chris was a dedicated employee of the Iowa Department of Transportation, Drivers' License Division for 34 years before retiring. Chris's top priority in life was caring for her family and friends, who have many wonderful memories of her, including her contagious laugh. Chris loved her pets and was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye and Kansas City Royals fan. Chris was a lifelong Baptist, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Council Bluffs. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim of Council Bluffs; sons Mike Miller and Ryan Miller, both of Council Bluffs; grandson Kaleb Brown of Georgia; mother Margaret Cozad of Red Oak; sister Becky (Brent) Heeren of Toledo; and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her father, Bill Cozad, of Red Oak. Visitation will be Friday, September 5 from 6-8:00 pm at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. The funeral service will follow on the next day, Saturday, September 6 at 11:00 am, also at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Reverend David Bender will be officiating. Burial will be Monday, September 8 at 10:00 am in the Red Oak Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
