Clarence E. “Lank” Mattox, age 95, passed away February 16, 2017.
He was born in Council Bluffs on December 11, 1921 to the late Ruben and Bessie Mattox. Lank proudly served his country in World War II and served an additional 36 years in the Army Reserves.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; children, Bill Mattox, Marlene Olsen, Maureen Thomsen and Jolene Main; siblings, Josephine Breeden, Stephen Mattox, Patricia Shuman, Dick Mattox; great grandchildren, Joshua and Steffanie Mattox; son-in-law, Jim Mings.
Lank is survived by his daughter, Kathy Mings; sister, Nancy Hull; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service is 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
