Corey J. Haberberger Whitmer

Corey J. Haberberger Whitmer, age 41, of Jacksonville, AR formerly of Council Bluffs passed away April 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born on April 27, 1973 in Omaha, Nebraska. He lived in Council Bluffs with his parents George and Patti (Haberberger) Whitmer until 1989. He played football for 3 years at North Pulaski High School and had acting and speaking parts in the school plays. He enjoyed writing stories, dogs and Star Wars. He worked for 14 years at Western Sizzlin in Jacksonville. Corey was so outgoing that he made friends wherever he went. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Don and Marge Haberberger; granny Lola Whitmer; and uncle Royce Larsen. He is survived by his parents, Patti and George Whitmer; sisters, Stacie Whitmer and Stephanie (Jay) Newell; grandpa William Whitmer Jr.; aunts, Jan and Rick Cook and Wanda and Scott Habighorst; uncles, Brian Haberberger and Bill and Ann Whitmer; niece and nephew, Flannery and Liam Newell; cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation is Thursday 5-8 PM at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home and funeral service Friday 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
