Dale F. Caughey

Dale F. Caughey, age 88 of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away July 3, 2013 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. He was born November 15, 1924 in Council Bluffs to the late William & Alice Caughey. Dale graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1942 and then from Creighton University in 1950. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and later in the Army Reserves. Dale was especially proud of his time spent in the Navy SeaBees. He spent his professional career as an accountant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Caughey and Robert Caughey; son-in-law, Dale Hunt and brother-in-law, Jerry Hansen. Dale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Caughey; son and daughter-in-law, Bob & Tami Caughey; daughters and sons-in-law, Jill & Scott Hermsen, Janet Hunt, Kelly & Mark Stuckey; grandchildren, Taylor & Ryan Caughey, Carrie Hermsen, Bobby Hermsen and fiancé Jenni Morris, Jake & Shannon Hunt, Erin & Allison Stuckey; nieces, Linda Kennedy and Jo McMillin; nephew, William Caughey; brother-in-law, Ron Hansen and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service is Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
