Daniel Darrell Sieck, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska. Dan was born on December 17, 1961, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Arthur and Diane (Blake) Sieck.
Dan grew up on the family farm south of Council Bluffs. He attended Pacific Junction Elementary School before graduating from Glenwood High School in 1980. He attended Iowa State University and Creighton University and was very close to a college degree before opening his parts store in Glenwood, Iowa. Dan farmed throughout his life in Southwest Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Dan lived a life marked by caring, independence, and a deep love for his community. Dan was a pillar of support and kept in touch with many friends and family members. Dan was a foodie and loved to drive his friends to explore new restaurants in one of his many trucks. He could often be found driving around the farm with his beloved dog, Mae.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Dave Sieck, and his wife, Kim, of Glenwood; uncle, Robert Sieck, and his wife, Beverly, of Council Bluffs; nieces, Maddi Sieck and Lexie Sieck of Glenwood; nephew, Evan Sieck, and his wife, Sarah, of Glenwood; great niece, Gracen Sieck, of Glenwood; many cousins, and a great number of friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Dan from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30th at the Glenwood American Legion, 104 N Vine Street, Glenwood, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Midwest Humane Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his memory.
Rest in peace, Danny. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
