Darlene A. Sampson

Darlene A. Sampson, age 62, of Underwood, Iowa passed away at her home on November 10, 2018. She was born in Council Bluffs on January 20, 1956 to the late Harlin and Margaret (Markey) Hurd. Darlene graduated from Underwood High School with the class of 1974.

Wayne and Darlene were united in marriage on May 6, 1983, they were married for more than 35 years. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends. She enjoyed making all sorts of cakes for any special occasion. Big gatherings and spending time with family was what she lived for. She also made sure that any trip to town included a stop for dinner.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Wayne Sampson; children, Celine Simonsen (Bryan), Nyla Paulsen (Mark), Kevin Sampson (Lacey), Dan Sampson (Courtney); sisters, Marilyn Rehling (Mike), Carol Busch (Bill), Kathleen Busch (Dick), Janice Young (Jack), Sharon Shaw (Jim), Eileen Pierce, Margaret Sampson (Joe), Nancy Gregory (Bob); brother, John Hurd (Deb); 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Viewing and visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.
