Darrell B. Odefey

Darrell B. Odefey, age 71, passed away February 1, 2016 at the home of his daughter in Council Bluffs. He was born in Denison, Iowa on July 12, 1944 to the late Elvin and Rosalia (Finnegan) Odefey. Darrell graduated from Charter oak High School with the class of 1963. He retired from Moorhead Coop. He was a loving and extremely selfless father and grandfather. After retiring he enjoyed riding his bike on local bike trails, coffee breaks at Hy-Vee, shopping and attending school and athletic functions for his granddaughter Sienna. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Odefey and infant twin sons, Ricky and Randy Odefey. Darrell is survived by his son, Tom Odefey; daughter, Tyci Odefey-Black and her husband Steven Black; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Dale Beam, Geraldine and Don Schurke, Janice and Wayne Olson; grandchildren, Sienna Black, Danny Black, Logan Odefey (Kevin Strunk) and Johnathan Odefey; great grandchildren, Evy Mitsven and Liam Strunk. Private family services will be held followed by interment in the Garner Township Cemetery.
