David Joseph McIntosh Jr, born on June 4, 1929, husband of June Ellen Thompson McIntosh, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2019.
He was preceded by his parents, David Joseph McIntosh Sr. and Opal Velma Fountain McIntosh of Council Bluffs and eight siblings.
He is survived by his wife, June; four daughters, Dorothy Diane Sellers (Jaye), Ruth Ann Tibbles (Jim), Jeanette Kay McClary (Mike), and Karen Sue Sward (Larry, deceased); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Sarah Tamms (Tom), Roseanne Ross (John), and Arnold McIntosh (Judy). David also leaves behind 2 sisters-in-law, Grace McIntosh (Richard, deceased) and Donna McIntosh (Delmar, deceased); foster-son, Bill Jones (Joan).
David was born and raised in the Crescent/Council Bluffs area. While serving in the Army in Baltimore, MD, he met and married June, his bride of over 70 years. Together, they built their own home in Crescent, where they raised their girls and entertained family and friends over many, many happy years. After retiring as Superintendent from Safeway Ice Cream, David spent his time traveling, enjoying his farm and tractor collection, and being surrounded by extended family.
Per David’s request, he has been cremated. The family appreciates thoughts and prayers.
