David "Dave" Bryan passed away at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs on January 12, 2019 at the age of 82. Dave was born December 11, 1936 in Onawa, Iowa to Leonard and Ethel Haynie Bryan.
He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1955. He proudly served his country in the Air Force.
He and Jeanne Deitchler Bryan were married September 16, 1961. His working career included RCA working as a radar technician on the Atlas missile sites in Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and California and for the Federal Aviation Agency in Great Falls, Montana. Upon returning to Iowa, he was employed at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and retired from Central States of Omaha Insurance Company in 1999. He was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. He spent the last 6+ years at Risen Son Christian Home in Council Bluffs.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughter Kim Bryan, son Scott (Cindy) Bryan and granddaughters Amanda and Taylor Bryan, brothers Norman (Arlene) Bryan, Lennie (Mary Ann) Bryan, sister Carolyn (Jerry) Doughman and extended family Mike (Sandy) Bryan, Bruce (Laree) Bryan, Violet (Gary) Moblee and Lori (Jack) Hollins.
A sincere thank you to all who have faithfully called, helped and supported us through Dave's journey with Parkinson's Disease. To the friends who traveled many miles for visits and support - Treasured times and forever grateful. We thank you for sharing the celebration of the life of our loved one and sharing precious memories. His wit and smile are missed. Our wish for you: Spend time with your family and enjoy enduring friendships. Lean on God for all things for He is our strength and salvation.
Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment is in Omaha National Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
