Dean Alan Shippy

Dean A. Shippy, age 52 of Honey Creek passed away January 10, 2012 at the Hospice with Heart Hospice House in Glenwood. He was born August 24, 1959 at the Red Lake Reservation in Beltrami County, Minnesota. Dean worked in the race horse industry for 30 years. He was a professional assistant trainer and groomer. He worked at tracks in Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota and Oklahoma. At the age of 5, Dean was adopted by his parents who survive him, Don & Terry Shippy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Valerie and Ronald Steffen and Susan & Ronald Weihs; brother, Tom; a host of other family and friends. Memorial service is Saturday 2PM at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. Dean?s final gift was that he donated his body to education and research at the University of Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Hospice with Heart.
