Diondre Dupree Mitchell was born March 29, 1988 in Omaha, NE. He was born the first son to Eric Mitchell and Jodi Bickler. Diondre is proceeded in death by his grandfather Kenneth Bishop, his great-grandparents Orville and Doreen Whitley and great-grandfather Tommy L. Smith. Diondre attended Wakonda Elementary, Beveridge Middle School and he graduated from Omaha Burke High School. He played Little League football for Lil Vikes and the Omaha Boys and Girls Club Jaguars as well as basketball with the Unity Stars Basketball League. He played varsity Football and Basketball for Burke High School. After high school Diondre chose to obtain a Barbers License from Josephs Barber College. Diondre was always a fun-loving, outgoing individual who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved to play jokes on people, mostly his younger cousins Darrnell, Shereef and Caleb. He also loved to tease his niece Erieyana by refusing to call her by her name. He referred to her as Scarieyana. Being raised by his grandparents Pastors Alvin and Marie Mitchell since the age of three, Diondre was taught the value of God and family. He was not raised as a grandson, but he and his brother Eric were raised as sons of the family. His aunts where no longer Aunt Rache or Adrial, but Che and Boobie. Shon and Alvin where no longer uncles, just Shon and Feda. Although he was not the oldest of his biological siblings he was the leader of the pack. Everyone did what Dion said do. He was a loving son, devoted grandson, loyal brother, dedicated uncle and most importantly Diondre was a phenomenal father. His greatest accomplishment was his four sons. He leaves behind to continue his legacy his four children: Armoni Mitchell, Diondre Mitchell II, London Mitchell and Carter Mitchell. To treasure his memory are his mother Jodi Mitchell, his father Eric D. Mitchell, four sisters Erica Erwin-Mitchell of Omaha, NE, Dominique Mitchell of Omaha, NE, Shaleese Mitchell of Houston, TX and Destinee Faulkner of Omaha, NE. Three brothers: Aaron Handy, Eric Mitchell II and JeVaun Brown of Omaha, NE, Grand-parents Apostles Alvin and Marie Mitchell of Omaha, NE, Pat and Pamela Classen of Papillion, NE, uncles Shon Mitchell (Marie) of Chesapeake Virginia, Alvin Mitchell Jr, David Classen of Texas, aunts Rache (Count) Cook, Adrial Mitchell of Omaha, NE and Lisa Bickler of Omaha, NE. Great-grandmother Christine Smith of Kansas City, Mo. Also left to mourn him is his fiancée and best friend, Jasmine Brooks, as well as a whole host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at the Tabernacle of Faith, 2404 Fort Street, Omaha, NE. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 12 Noon at the church.Omaha, NE., with Apostle Alvin Mitchell, Officiating and Pastor Barbara Mitchell, Hosting Pastor. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
