Donald Larsen

Donald P. "Whistle" Larsen, age 93, passed away peacefully at Primrose Assisted Living on June 15, 2024.

He was born January 17, 1931, to the late George and Imogene Larsen in Council Bluffs, IA. Don graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1949 and then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1966, he was transferred by Ford Motor Company to Michigan. The family lived in Birmingham until 1977, they then returned to Council Bluffs. Don and his late wife, Janice, founded Larsen Supply Co. in 1978.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Larsen; son, George Larsen; brother, Richard "Dick" Larsen.

Donald is survived by his children, Don & Susie Larsen and their children Kaj and Caroline, Tyler, Britta; Laura & Todd Swift and their children Whitney and Diego, John, Laine, Olivia; and Tom & Kim Larsen and their children Kassie, Jack, Brooke; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family will direct memorials in Don's honor.
