Donald M. Hansen

Donald M. Hansen, age 86 of Council Bluffs passed away November 22, 2012. He was born in Exira, Iowa on November 22, 1926 to the late Martin & Elizabeth Hansen. Donald retired from the Omaha Stock yards. After his retirement he continued to raise livestock on his acreage. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Linch, Viola Winthers, Margaret Nelson and Mabel Bednar; brother, Arthur Hansen. Donald is survived by his wife, June Hansen to whom he married April 7, 1958; daughter, Donna Ausdemore (David); sons, Michael Hansen (Jill), David Hansen (David Groves); step son, Lon Downs (Susan); grandchildren, Lisa Morrison (Chris), Danielle Nordby (Aron), James Hansen, Lily Hansen; step grandchildren, Jaime Baxter (Mark), Lonnie Downs, Jeffrey Downs, Eric Downs; step great grandchildren, Tiffany, Jadan, Dakota and Rylie; and a great grandchild on the way. Visitation is Monday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in the Lewis Township Cemetery followed by a reception in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
