Doro Louie Bortolotti, 76 years, Council Bluffs, died at his residence Friday evening, February 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
He was born April 12, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska to Isidoro and Michelina (Cominoli) Bortolotti. Louie, as they all called him, as well as “Curly”, attended catholic grade school and went on to graduate from Creighton Prep. He also attended Creighton University before going into the United States Army. He served five years in the active Army Reserves. He was involved in a number of business ventures and was a lifetime member of the NRA. His hobbies were boating, cars his friends and most of all, his tools.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Norman and his sister, Norma.
He is survived by his wife, Vera (Juergensen) Bortolotti; his daughter, JoDee (Paul) Burke; two sons, Terry (Cheryl) and Randy Bortolotti; 6 grandchildren, Nick and Gabby Burke, Chelsea and Zack Bortolotti, Sabrina and Brock Bortolotti; 1 great grandchild, Lliam Burke; his best four legged friend, Peacho; sisters in law, Marilyn, Carma (Darrell) and Bev; brothers in law, Fred (Darla), Louis (Karen); nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Memorial service will be held February 13, 2017 Monday, 4PM at the Hoy – Kilnoski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
