Dorothy Matilda Wohlers, age 91, of Urbandale, Iowa, formerly of Beebeetown, Iowa passed away July 11, 2015 in Urbandale. She was born on January 11, 1924 to Julius and Lilly (Wohlers) Witt in Boomer Township, West Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boomer Township. She attended country grammar school in Boomer Township and graduated high school in Beebeetown in 1942. She married Charles Wohlers on February 24, 1943 at St. Johns Lutheran Church. The couple lived on the same farm 3 miles south of Beebeetown where Charles was born. They were married 55 years until Charles passed away in 1998. In 2004, Dorothy went to live with her oldest daughter, Betty, in Urbandale where she resided until her death. Dorothy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family and her church meant everything to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, J.Wm Witt, Leonard Witt and Alvin Witt; sister, Alice Witt; sister-in-law Lorraine Witt; daughter-in-law Marlys Wohlers. She is survived by son, Harvey Wohlers; daughters, Betty Sample and Alice Goodell (Richard Dick); grandchildren: Amy Swackhamer, John Goodell, Sally Goodell (Mike Emmons), Will Goodell (Starla Howard); great grandchildren, Chase and Ciera Swackhamer and sisters-in-law, Estella Witt and Shirley Witt. Visitation will be Friday 6-8PM at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday 10:30AM at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Honey Creek. Burial will be in Grange Cemetery in Honey Creek.
