Eddy Loren Riggs, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1954, to Kenneth and Ethel (Hogg) Riggs.
Eddy was a man who loved the outdoors. He spent countless hours working on projects outside, camping, hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He cherished time with his family and friends, and had a special joy for playing Santa Claus during the holiday season.
Eddy served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a proud veteran. He was a self-employed roofer, concrete worker, and general contractor for many years. Eddy also owned a restaurant, showcasing his love for bringing people together. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His kindness, work ethic, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Eddy was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Riggs; mother, Ethel Riggs (Hogg); and sisters, Cheryl Ridinger and Cindy Riggs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Riggs (Hall); daughter, Darla McIntosh, and son-in-law, Joe McIntosh; granddaughter, Desirae McIntosh; great-granddaughter, Dayanara; son, Eddy Riggs II; sister, Chris Graybill; stepson, John Harrison, and daughter-in-law, Thea Harrison; grandchildren, Sadie Davis, Micky Higgins, and Hailey Higgins; stepson, Jason Babcock, and daughter-in-law, Cassandra Babcock; grandchildren, Teagan Babcock and Tyson Babcock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
An Honors Ceremony will be held at the Missouri Valley City Park by the Veterans Memorial On Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family then invites all to a Celebration of Life and lunch at the Missouri Valley Eagles Club from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
