Elizabeth Ann Judkins, age 67, passed away October 5, 2024. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Harold and Margaret (Espinosa) Judkins December 11, 1956. Elizabeth graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1975. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Iowa Western Community College in 1986 and began a long career providing high quality and compassionate care to others at CHI Mercy Hospital. She was an advocate for the American Red Cross and routinely donated life saving blood.
She raised 3 children that were the center and joy of her life. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family and with the Drennen family. Okoboji was her favorite place to relax and reflect. She is known for spreading her love to all that knew her, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion. She will always be remembered when hearing the phrase " Love ya, kiss ya, hug ya"!
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Judkins; son, Jacob Hemmingsen; and sister Mary Cowan. Survivors include her son, Andrew (AJ Schmidt) Judkins ; daughter Sarah (William) Conroy; grandson, Basil; granddaughter, Sorchal; sister, Stephanie (Dennis) Janes; brothers, Tom (Sharon) Judkins and Tim (Linda) Judkins; Brother-in-law, Gary (Sharon) Cowan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Council Bluffs Scholarship Fund, set up to honor her son, Jacob, or are encouraged to make a blood donation to the American Red Cross.
Private family burial was held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Celebration of her life will be 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at The Warehouse Event Venue (1414 W. Broadway) with special remarks to begin at 2:00 p.m.
