Elmer Branson

Elmer Branson, age 86, passed away January 12, 2022. He was born July 8, 1935 to Ray and Ella (Morton) Branson in Skidmore, MO. He was raised by his Grandparents Myrtle and Charles Morton. He was with them until he graduated from High School.

Elmer then came to Omaha and got a job at Safeway Bakery. He met his wife Betty and was married February 19, 1955. Elmer and Betty had two sons, Tim and Steve. He left Safeway Bakery and went to work at Union Packing house for a lot of years. He then went to work for HyClone Laboratories. As Director of Procurement.

His passions in life were his family, camping with his wife, taking fishing trips with his son Steve, growing pumpkins for his granddaughters Erica and Katherine when they were little and then growing them for his great granddaughters Elizabeth
and Emma.His other passion was working for HyClone Laboratories. He traveled all over the world. He enjoyed the people he worked with and still had contact with them in recent months. He retired at the age of 71 from HyClone. Elmer and Betty have been married for 66 years and what a what a wonderful journey it was.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Ella Mae and John Furster; father, Raymond Branson; son, Timothy Branson; sister, Dixie Branson; brother, Kenneth Taggs; grandparents, Charles and Myrtle Morton and Grandma Branson.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Betty Branson; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Barbara Branson; granddaughters, Erica Branson and Katherine Branson; great grand daughters, Elizabeth Branson and Emma Branson; cousins, Richard Morton, Carl Montgomery, and Rositia Stoner; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2022. The family will direct memorials.
