Eugene E. Glynn, age 92, of Council Bluffs passed away December 11, 2014 at Risen Son Christian Village. He was born in Council Bluffs on May 11, 1922 to the late Alfred and Dagmar (Sorensen) Glynn. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1941 and then proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Gene was a musician and played in a number of bands in the 1940s and 1950s. In later years he played with combos at retirement homes around the metro. Eugene retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1974. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Glynn; mother, Dagmar Green; step-father, William Green; son-in-law, Carl P. Rigatuso. Eugene is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen Glynn to whom he married December 21, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Kathryn Halverson-Rigatuso; grandson, Scott Halverson and his wife Mindy; great grandsons, Jaden and Jasper Halverson. Visitation is Sunday 2-4PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday 10AM at the funeral home. Interment is in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to St. Johns Episcopal Church in Glenwood.
