Farid Sadr, M.D. age 49, of Council Bluffs passed away February 14, 2015 at CHI Mercy Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was born in Ardabil, Iran on March 25, 1965 to Ebadollah and Effat (Showiz) Sadr. Dr. Sadr came to the United States in 1986 and attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He worked as a respiratory therapist at Mercy Hospital and then attended Ross University School of Medicine. Upon completion of medical school he served his residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. He returned to Council Bluffs and practiced in the Alegent Clinic near 22nd and Broadway and in 2010 he opened his own practice of Dr. Sadr, Internal Medicine and in 2013 added Convenient Care Walk In Medical Center. He was passionate about his patients and the medical profession. Farid is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Farshad of Ames, Iowa, Blake, Aaron, Tara, Will all at home; mother, Effat Sadr of Tehran, Iran; brothers, Parviz Sadr of Lakeside, California and Farshad Sadr of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg; sister, Parisa Sadr of Arlon, Belgium; father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Jerry & Mary Westling of Hawarden, Iowa; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church 14955 Somerset Ave in Council Bluffs. Interment is in the Garner Township Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
