Frances "Frannie" G. Mark

Frannie (Grote) Mark passed away peacefully at Risen Son Christian Village on April 16th. Just shy of her 95th birthday.

Frannie was born May 1, 1923 in her parents’ farm home (Ed and Ditha Grote) near McCelland, Iowa. She was an only child and walked to a one room school house with her cousin, Forest Grote to Quick, Iowa. Later, she graduated from Trynor High School. She married Oscar Raymond Mark in 1942 and together they had three children, Ray (Corky), Rodney (Butchy), and Trudy. Frannie was very active at Dodge Memorial Church teaching Sunday school, bible school, and participated in the church circle for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney (Butchy); husband, Oscar Raymond Mark on January 4, 1986; and her son, Ray (Corky).

Survivors include daughter Trudy (John) Kinsel; daughter-in-law, Janet Mark; grandchildren, Mike (Sherry) Mark, Heidie (Shane) Johnson, Doug (Angela) Kinsel, Kristin Kinsel; and great grandchildren.

Frannie’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Risen Son Christian Village for the loving care they provided Frannie for the last 7 1/2 years.

Frannie will be laid to rest at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Thursday, April 19 at a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Juvenile Diabetes.
