Freddie "Ron" Woods

Ron (Freddie) Woods, age 75, passed away peacefully April 30, 2021. He was born November 2, 1945 to Melvin and Phyllis (Gutheil) Woods in Council Bluffs, IA. Ron graduated from Thomas Jefferson high school. He was a carhop at the drive-in on Broadway then went to work at Carpenter Paper for 37 plus years. Ron was a Fraternal Order of Eagles #104 member for many years. He served as President for two years and held other officer positions as well. Ron enjoyed camping and for the last 12 years has headed south, a true Snowbird. He loved being with his family and playing cards and other games. Ron truly loved his football and cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ron was a wonderful person who loved his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Powers; sister-in-law, Cheri Woods; son-in-law, Larry Garretson.

Ron is survived by his wife Mary "Molly" Woods; son, Ronnie Lee (Linda) Woods; daughters, LuAnn Dermody, Roxanne Chatterton, Rosemary (Scott) Henn, and Rhonda Garretson; brothers, Don Woods, Randy (Kathy) Woods, Dave (Becky) Woods, and Larry (Sue) Woods; sister, Beverly (Richard) Kjar; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, May 07, 2021.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, May 8, 2021. The family will direct memorials.
