George Warren Yaple, 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Council Bluffs, IA on Oct. 31, 2019.
Warren was born February 7, 1953 in Clarinda, Iowa to George and Helen (Yance) Yaple. He graduated from West Nodaway R-1 High School in 1971. Mr. Yaple attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education.
Warren held various jobs throughout his life but spent the last 15 years employed by Metro Area Transit in Council Bluffs.
Warren enjoyed politics, whether it was a good conversation about them, supporting candidates or running for office himself. In 2012 he ran unopposed for the District 15 House of Representatives Democratic Party. Warren also enjoyed watching sports, gardening, animals, and collecting model World War I and World War II planes and model tractors.
Warren is survived by his only son, Austin Weil, of Waterloo, two grandchildren, Madison Chien and Ryder Weil of Cedar Falls, sisters Carol Yaple , of Clarinda, and Mary Brady of Brownsville, TX, brother Jon Yaple (Janet) of Clearmont, MO, nieces and nephews Greg (Tisha) Butt of Clarinda, Robin Brady, Austin, TX, Shelley (Mark) Storey, Lee's Summit, MO, Mark (Donna) Yaple, Iowa City, Matthew (Natalie) Yaple of Maryville, MO, Steven (Jennifer) Yaple, Liberty, MO, Jim (Sherry) Yaple of Alvada, OH, Roseanne (David) Wintringham, Dawson, OH and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Yaple, of Braddyville, and two brothers- David, of Braddyville, and Jim of Toledo, OH.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be in the Braddyville Cemetery. There will be a family gathering at Ice House in Clarinda, IA immediately after.
Memorials are suggested to Braddyville Cemetery and The Braddyville Methodist Church.
