Gerald J. “Jerry” Green

Gerald J. “Jerry” Green, age 72, of Minden, Iowa passed away October 26, 2016 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha.

He was born in Council Bluffs on December 21, 1943 to the late Joseph M. and Wilma V. (Schmaedke) Green. After high school, Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union after 38 years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Neola, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #330.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Green; nephews, Joe Konz, Tim Brich; brother-in-law, Jim Brich.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia “Cincy” Green; children, Chris Herridge and her husband Steve, Tammie Green, Jerry Green and his wife Jody, Brenda Anderson and her husband Jeff; sisters, Donna Brich, Cindy Nelson (Deny)and Renee Cummings (Bob); sister-in-law, Leona Konz (Bob); 7 grandchildren, Joseph Gehling, Kelsey Herridge, Stephen Green and fiancée, Natalie Jones, Ryan Herridge, Nate Herridge, Mackenzie Anderson, Marissa Anderson and 1 great grandchild, Rexton Green.

Visitation is at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
