Geraldine Tiarks

Geraldine "Jere" Tiarks, age 91, passed away at Northcrest Living Center on August 13, 2024.

She was born January 5, 1933, to the late Oscar and Doris (Montgomery) Olson in Omaha, NE. Jere graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She loved to cook and bake. Her life revolved around her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Tiarks; son, Marty Tiarks; brother, Swede Olson; sister, Joanne Jorgensen; granddaughter, Kelcie Stephens.

Geraldine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Luanne Tiarks; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Rusty Stephens; daughter-in-law, Lacey Tiarks; grandchildren, Justin Tiarks (Brigitte), Jordan Tiarks (Danielle), Kristian Stephens (Mary Miller), Emma Stephens (Tom Brunner), Lily Tiarks, and Maggie Tiarks; great grandchildren, Micah, Ruth, Joy, and Malachi; siblings-in-law and their spouses, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Fellowship Church in Oakland, Iowa. Visitation will be at the church during the hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Zion Congregational Church Cemetery in Treynor. In lieu of flowers, the family will direct memorials in Jere's honor.
