Glen S. Earleywine , age 87, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on December 28, 2024, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Glen was born on September 23, 1937, in Logan, IA to Stoker & Vivian (Lamb) Earleywine. Glen's greatest fondness was his family, his grand puppies who he called "his wiggle butts" (Hannah & Hailey) and the love of music, especially bluegrass.

Glen graduated from Magnolia High School in 1956. Glen joined the Army in January 1957 and was stationed on the Big Island in Hawaii. He was known as a "peace time vet" as he never did get called up for overseas combat, but he was ready. He was honorably discharged in February 1963.

He worked for over 37 years at Paul Lucht Body Shop in Omaha, NE. He was a diesel mechanic and very knowledgeable on truck and truck restoration. Then in his late 50's, he started another career as a diesel mechanic for Laid Law Transportation in Omaha, NE. There was not a school bus he didn't know, touch or probably get to do maintenance, repair, or drive while he was employed there. He retired in 2006 to enjoy travel and many hobbies. Glen was an avid rock collector. There was not a rock that he would not pick up and rattle off the name of it. He had a huge rock garden at the house of 57 years that he had to pick up (most rocks) and relocate to his new home where Brenda made a nice garden for him to admire.

Glen always loved a good NASCAR race, going camping, fishing and planting a big garden (to feed all the neighbors) and boy did he have quite the green thumb. Last year Brenda helped him plant his one tomato plant outside his door where he would sit to watch it grow and produce over 50 tomatoes. He was very lucky to live in his own apartment in the lower level of John & Brenda's home where he obtained his independence but yet was close to family (to be able to get Brenda's home cooking and John's wonderful barbeque). He loved to go for afternoon drives along the countryside to see the farmers in the fields, to reminisce of the good old days when he was growing up. He was a country boy at heart. He loved to include in these drives a stop for a senior coffee at the "golden arches" and loved to sit and people watch at Lake Manawa. He would always tell us who and what he would see along his journeys. Outside sitting on his porch rocking in his chair is where you would find Glen most days.

He is preceded to Heaven by parents: Stoker & Vivian (Lamb) Earleywine, Daughter: Sandra (Narducci), Earleywine and Siblings: Ilene Weed, Maxine Smith, Marcella Earleywine, Merlin Earleywine, Duane Earleywine, Shirley Baldwin (Earleywine) and Ronald Earleywine along with many good friends he recently has lost and many beloved pets.

Glen is survived by his wife: Nancy (Williamson) Earleywine (married 65 years) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter: Brenda (John - favorite Son-In-Law) Salmans of Council Bluffs, IA, Grandson: Nathan Narducci of Newport Richey, Florida, Grand Daughter: Lindsie Salmans of Omaha, Nebraska, Great-Great Grandson: Malakai Narducci of Newport Richey, Florida; brother, Gail (Doris) Earlywine of Council Bluffs; many nieces nephews; his grandpuppies: Hannah and Hailey, and many wonderful longtime friends.

Glen will be greatly missed and held close in everyone's heart.
