Goldie Geraldine Jorgensen, age 79 of Council Bluffs passed away April 23, 2013. She was born March 28, 1934 in Buffalo, Missouri to Ellen Gertrude (Miller) and Charles M. Williams. Goldie was joined in matrimony to Cecil W. Vermule in August of 1949 in Buffalo, Mo. They made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This union was blessed with six children, Pamela, Cathy, Debra, Cecil Jr., Bruce and John. Goldie and Cecil divorced in 1963. Goldie married Robert L. Jorgensen in October of 1966. They were blessed with one daughter, Kimberly. Robert brought four children to join the family, Judy, Theresa, June and Michael. Goldie worked as a waitress, bartender and drove tractor/trailer with husband Robert until his death in 1985. She was then employed by Sears until she retired. Her last days were spent at Regency Skilled Nursing Home in Council Bluffs. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, visiting casinos and visiting with family and friends who will miss her and are grateful for the off the wall and colorful humor she brought to any room. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Earl Vest; four brothers, Charles Jr., Edward, James and Roy Williams; one sister, Jewell Sullivan; husbands, Cecil Vermule and Robert Jorgensen as well as one grandchild, Jenifer Knapp. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Geraldine Vermule of Glenwood, IA., Henrietta Burnett (Wally) of Ceresco, NE., Beverly Williams of Spokane, WA., Elane Hartmann of Grand Island, NE; daughters, Pamela Hunt (Rich) of Osage Beach, MO., Cathy Clarahan (Jim) of Las Vegas, NV., Debra Coleman (Charles) of Malvern, IA. and Kimberly Jorgensen of PA; sons, Cecil Vermule Jr. (Julia) of Council Bluffs, IA., Bruce Vermule (Linda) of Delphos, OH and John Vermuele (Trish) of Council Bluffs, IA; step-children, Judy Balsley (John) of Lincoln, NE., Theresa Netsch (Dick) of Milford, IA., June (Dan) Russell of Lincoln, NE., Michael Jorgensen (Coco) of Lincoln, NE; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a host of other friends and relatives and special friend, William (Bill) Jefferson. Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tony Paff officiating. A reception will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski.
