Representative Gregory A. Forristall, age 67, of Macedonia, Iowa passed away May 10, 2017 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.
He was born in Council Bluffs on February 15, 1950 to Gerald and Geraldine (Hopp) Forristall. Greg graduated from Carson Macedonia High School and then attended college at University of Iowa earning Master’s Degree in music. He was a farmer for over 25 years and was first elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2007 and was currently serving in his 6th term.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Forristall.
Greg is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol Forristall; father, Gerald Forristall; mother-in-law, Jean Goos; sister-in-law, Margaret Hein and her husband Dennis; brother-in-law, Lynn Goos and his wife Jan; niece, Jen Rae Wang and her husband Alan; brothers, Gary Forristall and his wife Diane, Gayle Forristall and his wife Marga; sister, Gerianne Darnell and her husband George; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. on Saturday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Graveside service is 2:30p.m. on Sunday in the Silver City, Iowa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Hein Family Foundation – 14216 Franklin Street Omaha, Nebraska 68154. They will disperse the memorial contributions to scholarships in Greg’s honor.
