Gustin John Hoovestol, 24, passed away on August 8, 2016 at his home in Carter Lake, IA. Gus was born January 15, 1992 in Bismarck, ND, the fourth child to Grant and Laurie Hoovestol. He spent the first four years of his life in New Salem, ND before moving to West Fargo, ND where he attended school. During his school years, he enjoyed playing video games with friends and traveling all over the Midwest and Canada to attend his brothers hockey tournaments. He and his family spent many summers at their lake place in Minnesota where he loved to go four wheeling and out on the water. In recent years he became passionate about his movies, music, and reading about military history. He had miniature dachshunds throughout his life, and he cherished and loved each and every one. He was an avid hockey fan, favorite team being the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him greatly. Blessed to have shared his life with his parents, Grant and Laurie Hoovestol, Carter Lake IA, two sisters, Nikki Hoovestol, Fargo, ND, and Whitney (Joel) Heer, West Fargo, ND, one brother, Garison Hoovestol, Omaha, NE, two nephews, Emmett and Branson Heer, one grandma, Darlene Hoovestol, Mandan, ND, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his best friend, Lucas Brand. Gus was proceeded in death by is Grandpa Glenn Hoovestol, Grandma MajorieSorge, Grandpa Marvin Sorge. Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Thursday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2:00p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family will direct memorials.
