Helen Ring

Helen M. Ring, age 100, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025.

She was born January 10, 1925 to Hubbard and Mabel (Phillips) Purdy in Oakland, IA. Helen graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1943 and retired from Lewis Central Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ring; daughter, Jacolyn Gundlach; son, Roger Ring; siblings, Max Purdy, Lewis Purdy, and Phillip Purdy.

Helen is survived by Kim (Tim) Hewett, Mark (Kim) Ring, Linda (Kim) Curry; son-in-law. Bill Gundlach; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ring; grandchildren, Makayla Ring, Andrew Ring, Mike Hewett, Kelli Baumbach, Austin Ring (Amber), Mandy Campbell (Chris), Jason Gundlach, Jill Roff; granddaughter-in-law, Missy Gundlach; great grandchildren, Dylan Campbell, Lucas Campbell, Alli Bambach, Tyler Campbell, Reese Gundlach, Brooklyn Roff, Grayson Hewett, Alex Ring, Brody Hewett, Adaline Ring, and Emery Hewett; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2025. Inurnment will be later that afternoon in the Carson Iowa Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
